Location
Collinsville, located 23 miles northeast of downtown Tulsa, is a growing community known for its natural beauty and small-town charm. Residents enjoy wooded hills, rolling prairies, and easy access to recreational and cultural attractions like Skiatook and Oologah Lakes, the Tulsa Zoo, Oxley Nature Center, Redbud Valley, and the Woolaroc Museum and Animal Reserve. Downtown Collinsville retains much of its historic character, featuring buildings from the late 1800s and early 1900s, as well as shops, antique stores, and an art gallery. Health screenings and frequent recreational activities are planned and organized by the Planning Committee at each community. The Planning Committee typically includes two residents, the resident manager, LIFE's Housing Services Coordinator and a community representative. The Housing Services Coordinator also works with individual residents, as needed, helping them access support and services, enabling them to remain independent as long as possible and avoid nursing home care.
